logorama & a new creative showcase
The Academy agrees, brands are a part of our lives. Congrats Logorama for winning an Oscar for Best Animated Short. In my own life, I identify a lot of my youth with brands like Star Wars and Legos, and in my teens, it was Reebok. In my adult life, I can't make it a day without Post-It Notes or various Apple products. I think where a brand connects, where it counts, there isn't a client or an ad agency there. It's just a person and a personal gut feeling why they love a brand. This feeling can't be artificially created. People see through that shit. The more social our world becomes, the more authentic relationships between people and companies need to be. Wouldn't you like to see a world where people have more creative imput into marketing? I sure would. Advertising would suck less.
I know it's weird to hear an ad guy say this, but sometimes we get in the way. The world is different now. We don't need to guard the gate of branded experiences all the time. The people can handle it. As part of our exploration into this thought, we're proudly launching a showcase site for people who love brands. The site will feature writers, photographers, directors, musicians, and creatives of all kinds who want to promote their brand love in an authentic way. Want to be a part of the movement? Pass the info along to your creative friends. Thanks!
